The route is finalized. Every segment defined, every pass considered, every coastal deviation intentional. What was abstract is now concrete: a continuous line from Basel to Sicily and back. The planning phase is over. Midway, Palermo stands as a fixed point — not just geographically, but psychologically. A deliberate pause in the center of the expedition. A place to stop moving, to reset, before turning north again. From here on, there is nothing left to optimize. Only to ride.
